DIY your own Texture Polish

Hello Nail Surfers

Welcome to My Beach

As promised this post is about how you can make your own texture polish.

It all started with this particular nail image from My Online Shop
MJ XIV (MJ14)
I kept seeing others post pics with China Glaze texture or Sally Hansen Sugar Coated Polishes.
Now to be honest I am not willing to pay $6-$8 a bottle for something that is just trending. Like crackles came and went. Now these styles do have it's time and place but at that price I'd
have to absolutely love it or get it on clearance with a coupon before I own any.

Now like most things in life there's fads. Some come and go and others stay away.
But in Nail World art is different.
These products really have no rules.
On your rhinestone wheel does it say only apply 1 and don't mix and match?
Nope. So we already act outside the recommended directions.

 SURFS UP.....

So Cheesy!
The first picture is Velvet Dust. aka Flocking Powder

Oh and if you didn't know already "Yes" you can even stamp over Flocking Powder.
On the second picture I applied two coat of clear coat over the Flocking Powder.
Because the nail is so fluffy it sucks up the clear coat.
So you made need to add more depending on your liking.
I already had the Velvet Dust and who doesn't have a clear coat handy..
I used cheap clear coat on this Mani.

If you Google Images  Orange Texture Polish you will see photo's of
swatches that look the same as here..
I will post other's photo's unless they permit me to.

This is the Velvet Dust I have from Mash Nails

You can purchase this plate at--My Online Shop
 MJ XIV
MJ 14 In real Life.
Oh and of course I stamped in my  "Trusty" Black Polish

Are you a big fan of the texture polishes?
Do you have any Flocking powder or Velvet Dust just laying around?
You can find flocking powder at your local craft store.
I have a kit and it was on clearance for 2-3 dollars :)
But you didn't hear that from me..heheehe

Thank you for surfing My wave.
I hope you enjoyed your visit at My Beach..

Stay Tuned in.. I have Big News to Share Soon! :)

Fun with Caviar

Hello Nail Surfers

Welcome To My Beach

As some of you may already know I like to try new
things with nail products. I am a rule breaker- Yes..
But if you don't try it you will never know.
So I started of with this gradient Mani.
Here I'll so you..

SURFS UP...

I used CG Elephant Walk and W`NW Black for the Gradient.
Caviar beads are from Mash Nails
I had this Caviar Nail and what better to match it than Spiders!
The beads now look like spider eggs.
Kinda gross but still pretty cool
I topped this off with some Mash Nails Matte Polish.

Now this is when my mind started to think outside the box..
Can I stamp over Caviar Beads?
How would it look?
I've never seen this done before.umm
I better try it anyways..
I was so excited to see that it worked.
This Mani just changed it's whole look with One simple little stamp.

Cheeky Jumbo 6 for the Spider Web.
The difference just between Glossy VS Matte
and than Plain Caviar VS Stamped Caviar

I have so many different creations I want to make trying this technique.

I also experimented making my own texture polish.
That'll be my next post. :)

Have you ever thought or tried to use nail products in different ways than
intended on the package?
Just writing this up gave me more ideas to play around with and try.
Like.. String.. Who says I can't glue that sucker down on my nail?
Or use it to stripe my polish.
Yeah.. I got you thinking now huh..
With nail art you have to have Fun with it.

Thank you for surfing my wave.
I hope you enjoyed your visit at My Beach.

We All Scream for IceCream

Hello Nail Surfers

Welcome to My Beach

I still have many Mani's to share with you.
But today  I am going to show you Mani that is a real treat.
No really it is..

SURFS UP....

I used China Glaze "Make an Entrance" as a base.

Cheeky's Newest Jumbo Plates
which can be found on Amazon.com or by
clicking Cheeky Beauty

I also used CH 42

Now I know some of you may be asking how in the heck
did I color all that in and not loose the image detail..
Well.. I am going to show you :)

1. Apply clear coat on top of a plastic bag. ( I used a sandwich bag)
2. I painted my nail my base color.
3. Stamp your image over your "Dried" topcoat.
4. Color your image in. (I use acrylic paints, but nail polish works as well)
5. Carefully peel the top-coated image off the plastic. (I use tweezers and slide it under the image)
6. Trim off any excess.
7. Place it on top of your nail with the good side facing up.
8. Apply top coat on top of your home made stamping decal.
(keep in mind**Seche Vite** shrinks your art,and it will shrink your
decal also)
9. After it's all dry you can now apply your favorite topcoat and do you clean up.

Tools to have handy..
* tweezers
*scissors
*small dotting tool end or an orange stick (helps pull extra's off and way from nail)

Have you made you own stamping decals before?

This is not a "New" technique. It has been around for a few years now.
It's just trending again.

I hope you enjoyed your visit at My Beach.

"Happy Mother's Day "
to ALL the Mom's out there. :)

SURFS UP....

I used Fashion Disaster Plate FD 2
These plates work amazing.
I only have 2 of the 6 in this set.
She also has other plates that she sells.
Which can be found Here..Fashion Disaster

I used Sinful Unicorn as a base and stamped in..
Yep. You guessed it.. My "trusty" Black from Mash Nails
and I used W`N`W Red on accent Nail and stamping.
On the Pinkie I used Cheeky Beauty Jumbo Plate 6
Have a Wonderful Day!

Chester Cheeto Says " So Cheesy"

Hello Nail Surfs

Welcome to My Beach

Texture polishes are in for the moment.
And although I do not own any textured polishes I wanted to try something new.
So today I had a crazy thought and I wanted to see if it would really work.

I used Mash Nails Velvet Powder Dust.
And then I added a topcoat over it.
It dried nicely but I wanted to see what 2 coats would look like.
Here below is 2 coats of topcoats.
These no longer are soft and fluffy like Velvet.
They feel more like sand paper now.

SURFS UP...

On the Left is just plain Velvet dust.
On the is 2 coats of Topcoat followed by
MJ 14 Plate.
and yes... I used my "Trusty" Black polish by Mash Nails

This Plate has so many outstanding images.
If you would like to purchase this plate or any other of MyOnline Shop's Plates
please visit her order form here

So I basically made my own texture polish and saved.

Have you ever put your nail products to the full test?
Ever wonder what would happen if you added this or that?
I do..lol..

Thank You for surfing my wave.
I hope you enjoyed your visit at My Beach

Fun and Simple

Hello Nail Surfers

Welcome to My Beach

Have you ever used a special polish in a way it was not
originally interned for?
I am a nail art rule breaker.
I love finding new uses for nail products.

SURFS UP....

IP Mash 8
I have been really enjoying these diamond shape gems.
And of course I must use my "Trusty" Black stamping polish.
I topped this Mani off with Mash's Matte Polish.
Now here's the kicker!!
I used the Matte coat right over my stamping and "No Smearing"
"No dragging or distorting of the image. This is another one of those
"Must have" products.
I used the Blue Magnetic Polish as regular polish to match my gradient.
And because I did this over a Yellow Base the 2 colors mixed together formed a
green in the gradient. So it appears I used 3 colors for this but I did not.

To purchase any of the "Trusty" Mash Black Stamping Polish,
Mash's Matte Top Coat
Mash's Diamond Gems
Mash's Blue Metallic Polish
 Visit..Mash Nails

Do you still pull out your older plates and use them?
I always keep the plates handy just like my others.

Thank you for surfing my wave.
I hope you enjoyed your visit at My Beach.

Changing Tribes

Hello Nail Surfers

Welcome to My Beach

I am honored to receive some "New Plates" to try out.
Yes.. more plates.. This is a self owned Company.
She calls herself Fashion Disaster 101
She has just started out and has a few plates already.
These Plates start with FD
She has a store page and sells various products.
I was able to pick which plate I would like try out.
It was a hard decision to pick just one.

I choose FD 3. FD 2 was already coming my way.

SURFS UP.....

I used FD 3along with my "Trusty" Black stamping polish

These are the 2 plates I received.

I was really amazed on how great they stamped.
No issues with scrapping or stamping.
All the images tested above where the first try.
I am a stickler when it come to testing a plate out.
I can not find any faults on these plates.
These do come with a blue film on them and there is no backings.

All these shades in "One" bottle of polish.

This is the color inside.

And this is the color it changes to outside.

I was able to capture this Mani as it was changing back to the inside color.

I picked up a few of these color changing polishes.

To purchase the FD 2 or FD 3 Plate  please check out
Fashion Disaster 101 for these and other nail products.

These plates are different and the images are quite rare.

Are these plates  that you would add to your collection?

Thank You for surfing my wave.
I hope you enjoyed your visit at My Beach

Duck Dynasty Mani

Hello Nail Surfers

Welcome to My Beach

I had received some water decals from Chaos-Nail-Design-Decals

I really wanted to think outside the box with these decals.
Most others are just placing decals over plain solid bases.
And they do look great over plain bases too.
But of course I wanted to test the waters and try something new with them.
With Duck Dynasty decals I really could of done many different types of bases.
But I wanted to try stamping over them.
Now it is recommend to apply the decal over a light base.
With an Olive Green,Grey and Black Camo print over a White base
I wasn't following the rules already.
So to insure that these decals would stay true to there appearance I
used White Acrylic paint and sponged to circles in the area I wanted to place
the decal. By me doing this I new that my background art would not
show through my decals.
Once it was all dried I applied my top coat.

SURFS UP....

I used Cheeky Jumbo D
MyOnline Shop's Special Olive  Green  and Grey stamping polish
along with my "Trusty" Black from Mash Nails
Oh.. And did you know that Funky Fingers is "3 FREE" ?
I have tried many different brands of white polishes and all
of them having the same ending results.. Streaking and bald spots.Oh and uneven ness.
Funky Fingers give me none of these issues.. So when I spot the White or Black
I grab a bunch. This is also the White I always stamp in.

These Decals do come with an instruction sheet.
It's fairly simple to do.
*Do not remove the clear plastic off the decal*

Here are some samples of more designs  by Chaos Nail Design Decal

There's even more on her Store page, which can be found here

Which is your favorite?
Would you wear a water Decal Mani?
These would come in so handy for those insta Mani times.

Thank You for surfing my wave.
I hope you enjoyed your visit at My Beach.

Under Armour Mani/ Flower Power Mani's

Hello Nail Surfers

Welcome to My Beach

Have you ordered your new MJ Plates yet?
Or are they on there way now :) ?

I am very pleased with mine.
For my first Mani I wanted to use the Under Armour Logo.

SURFS UP....

MJ 14
My "Trusty" Black Polish
I started this Mani with 1 coat of Pure Ice"Show Stopper
and used CG "Make an Entrance" for the gradient.

Now for those who follow me Via YouTube -you know from time-time
I'll use the lint roller trick to do another Mani without changing my base.
To see how check out my YouTube Video

So I used the trick again and made a Mani #2

I used MJ 10 and my "Trusty" Black polish

Have you tried the lint roller trick yet?

Thank you for surfing my wave.
I hope you enjoyed your visit at My Beach.
